Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these bylaws is to stipulate details regarding credit recognition for those who participate in community service activities on and off campus. <Amended 2021.2.25.>
Article 2 (Definition of Terms)
① Community service activities recognizable as college credits refer to non-profit, non-political group activities on or off campus for the purpose of public interest and unpaid volunteer work in consistence with cultivating the leader’s spirit of service. <Revised 2021.2.25.>

Article 2-2 (Managing Department)
The department in charge of social service activities and grades for social service subjects are managed by the Community Service Center.

Article 3-2 (Evaluation methods and standards)
① Community service subjects consist of basic education and community service activities, and at least 20 hours of volunteer work are required to earn 1 credit. Volunteer organizations include those recognized by the Social Service Center, the Social Welfare Volunteer Certification Agency (VMS), and the Korea Central Volunteer Center (1365 Volunteer Portal). <Revised 2021.9.16., 2023.6.13.>
② In order to receive community service credit, a certificate of community service activity must be submitted to the responsible department within the designated period. However, if you wish to have your volunteer service performed during military service recognized as hours of community service, you can replace it with a military experience certificate issued by the Ministry of National Defense (indicating your community service performance). ③ Students taking community service courses are allowed to donate blood up to two times per semester, and 4 hours per donation is recognized with a certificate of completion of each item below. Blood donation institutions are limited to blood donation houses and blood donation trucks operated by the Blood Management Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross. The certificate for this must be submitted as a confirmation of community service activity issued by the Korea Central Volunteer Center (1365 Volunteer Portal). 1. First semester: 2nd semester (September) – 1st semester (15th week) of current year
2. Second semester: 1st semester (March) of current year – 2nd semester (15th week)
Article 4 (Credit recognition and grade notation)
① Recognition of volunteer work on the military career certificate is possible regardless of semester. However, only one application is allowed until graduation, and the required volunteer hours must be met to complete the course. <Revised 2021.02.25.>
② If a student taking a volunteer course who performed community service during military service submits a military experience certificate containing the relevant information, all service achievements on the certificate will be recognized regardless of the period of service performed. However, if the service hours or frequency are insufficient, additional service will be added during the course period. You can fill it by carrying out volunteer work. ③ During the regular semester, students on leave of absence cannot receive credit even if they participate in volunteer activities. However, during seasonal semesters, students on leave of absence may receive credits through credit-recognition community service activities. <Revised 2021.02.25.>
④ Grades for community service courses can be marked as P (Pass) or F (Fail) and are not added to the grade point average (G.P.A.) and are included in graduation credits. <Revised 2013.9.1., 2015.3.1., 2021.02.25.>
